Assistant Vice President, Credit Risk Assessment & Portfolio Management (CAPM)
Job Responsibilities:
a) Credit Risk Assessment:
Review credit proposals and provide recommendations to higher level authority for credit approval (or approve credit proposals per granted authority), which include to provide credit advice for pre-deal transaction discussion with frontline units, to review major credit terms of the loan documentation, to provide comments on standard templates, etc.
b) Credit Risk Portfolio Management:
Devise and implement thematic reviews on corporate borrowers in response to emergence of credit events / adverse changes in external economic / business environment, and then report findings on a regular basis
Monitor corporate borrowers of elevating risk / overdue repayment and coordinate with frontline units to come up with appropriate risk mitigation strategies and early recovery actions, and then monitor frontline units to submit status report, remediation report etc.
Devise to execute risk mitigation & collection strategies on Special Mention (or Non Performing Loans) accounts
As 2nd line of defence to conduct sample check on loan usage & irregularities, negative news, risk symptoms, etc. gathered by frontline units on an on-going basis in relation to corporate borrowers and other market information, that aims to evidence frontline units complying with the Bank's relevant requirements and approved credit conditions
Prepare reports on concerned corporate borrowers and portfolio-level asset quality on a regular basis, including but not limited to portfolio-level credit provision and client-level Expected Credit Loss (ECL) estimates
Prepare reports on client-level credit risk rating on a regular basis to ensure its relevance
Monitor and execute to comply with both the Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements regarding portfolio-level credit risk related matters, including but limited to Credit Risk Stress Testing, Exposure cap on Single Large Borrower, Exposure Cap on specific sector(s), etc.
Update credit policies, credit strategy guide and credit risk related guidelines for adherence to latest business strategy, credit risk strategy and regulatory requirements
Report portfolio-level credit risk related actual performance against the Board approved Risk Strategy & Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) to senior management, the Board, Head Office and regulators, where appropriate, escalate portfolio-level credit risk-related and regulatory issues
c) Risk Governance Management:
Assist Head of Risk Management Division (RMD) in risk governance management other than credit risk, such as the review of risk appetite statement, large exposure management and the enhancement of the relevant procedures and control
Provide support to non-credit related risk management areas and overall risk control project on ad hoc basis
Job Requirements:
Degree holder in any disciplines
More than 5 years (for Assistant Manager post) or 8 years (for Assistant Vice President post) or 10 years (for Vice President post) of experience in corporate/FI credit risk, either as credit analyst from risk/credit management department or as a relationship manager in the frontline units in preparing credit application
Strong analytical mind with sound presentation skill
Fluency in English and Cantonese, Fluent Putonghua is an added advantage
Experience in other risk areas (e.g. special assets management, risk policy and procedure review, post-approval monitoring, loan documentation, etc.) would be an added advantage
Less experience would be considered as Manager, Credit Risk Assessment & Portfolio Management
Relevant professional qualifications, e.g ECF qualification, will be an advantage
